Pastor Erskine Dodson: Senior  Pastor

Pastor Dodson, our Senior Pastor, has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, and a Graduate Degree in Theology from Empire State Baptist Seminary in Syracuse, NY. He also has a Masters of Ministry and has almost completed his Doctorate of Ministry from Baptist Bible Seminary in Clark Summit, PA. He is also Adjunct Professor at Crossroads Bible College here in Indianapolis. Pastor Dodson has a “Pastor’s heart,” a love for the Church of Christ, and finds it a blessing in feeding and overseeing the flock of God. He also has a burden for Global Ministry, and on several occasions he has gone to Africa, ministering in the churches and villages. His desire is to train more leaders at home and abroad so they can go back to their villages and churches and perfect the saints to do the work of the ministry. As saints are perfected/equipped to do the work of the ministry, the Kingdom of God will truly be enhanced. One of Pastor Dodson’s favorite passages is:

Acts 26:16-18

16 But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you.

17 I will deliver you… to whom I now send you,

18 to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.' NKJV

Rev. Lonny Gomes: Outreach-Evangelism Pastor

Pastor Gomes is a graduate of the Eastern Nazarene College and Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, CO. Pastor Gomes holds Bachelor Degree in Biblical Studies. He truly has a heart for evangelism, and he will be training/equipping and implementing the Outreach Ministry for Trinity Baptist Church. Evangelism should never cease from our lips and ministries. There are so many people who are still lost and have a need for the Saviour. Without repentance toward God for one’s sin and placing genuine faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, one cannot be saved. “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard….so then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” Romans 10:14, 17. Let us never forget this ongoing mandate to be equipped and to share this Great Gospel.

Dr. Ibrahim Audu: Discipling Pastor

Dr. Audu received his Master Degree in Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary and his Doctorate from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi.

As people get saved, it is so important that they be assimilated into the local church and be equipped for the ministry. Dr. Audu’s primary ministry is discipling, nurturing, and equipping believers for the work of the ministry. Romans 12:6 states, “Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them”. It is important for every believer to know and be equipped to use his or her abilities and gifts for the glory of God. Dr. Audu will be coming along side all who are willing to yield their lives to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and help them to discover their gifts and talents, and thus be equipped for ministry. Ephesians 2:10 states “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before hand that we should walk in them”. God has so ordained/appointed that every believer has been saved unto “good works.” We are saved by grace alone, though faith alone, in Christ alone. But as a believer, obedience should manifest good works for the Saviour.

Rev. Michael Wilson: Administrative Pastor

Rev. Wilson attended Howard University in Washington, DC, and attended and received a Bachelor Degree in Management and Ethics from Crossroads Bible College here in Indianapolis, IN. Rev. Wilson is like the glue that sees to it that things are done in a planned and organized fashion. The Scripture tells us that “The preparation of the heart belongs to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord”. We are commanded to plan, prepare, strategize and implement. Rev. Wilson works administratively with all of the ministry leaders, seeing to it that things are done decently and in order.

Sis. Patricia Smitherman: Pastor's Administrative Assistant

Sis. Smitherman did undergraduate studies at IUPUI and at Indiana Wesleyan University where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. After retiring early from AUL as a Sr. Contract Analyst in 2002, she joined the Trinity staff in February 2003. Sis. Smitherman works with Pastor Dodson in handling many administrative details that go along with the Office of Pastorate. She maintains the daily administration of the church office, and she works with the Administrative Pastor and other church leaders in all areas for effectual smoothness of the ministry. The Scripture says, “And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Colossians 3:17.

Sis. Linda Gomes: Minister of Music

Psalm 100:1-2 “Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands! Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing”. Music and singing has always been a significant part of worship. Mrs. Linda Gomes has a Bachelor Degree in Music from Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA, and a Master Degree in Music and Education from Central Connecticut State University. She is the Director of our Music Ministry at Trinity. Her leading in our music ministry has really enabled us to “Make a joyful shout to the Lord” every Sunday. The expression of worship through music, whether through the violin, piano, keyboard, the choir, or through individuals, has touched the hearts of so many.

One Last Word from the Pastor:

If any of our staff can serve you in any way, please do not hesitate to contact us. If we can share with you the knowledge of the Scriptures, we would love that opportunity to do so. Please do not allow yourself or your family to exist as in days of old during the day of the prophet Hosea. Note what God said:

Hosea 4:6-7

6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

Because you have rejected knowledge,

I also will reject you from being priest for Me;

Because you have forgotten the law of your God,

I also will forget your children.

7 "The more they increased,

The more they sinned against Me; NKJV

Let us all know and apply God’s Word continuously into our lives.
